Dr. Dennis Fitzpatrick cites neuroscience, primate behavior, and water studies as a few examples where research excellence has brought world attention to the University of Lethbridge.

SYNOPSIS: University of Lethbridge Newly appointed to the Board of Governors Research Chair at the University of Lethbridge, Dr. Bryan Kolb has led a distinguished career investigating the way the human brain works. Along with Dr. Ian Whishaw, he has co-authored a textbook on neuroscience which has been translated into five languages and is used internationally as a standard introductory text. His pioneering research into brain injury has helped with the establishment of the new Canadian Centre for Behavioral Neurosciences at the University of Lethbridge. Some of his present work looks stroke and the effect of drugs and other substances on brain development.

SYNOPSIS: Dr. Ian Whishaw received the first appointment to the Board of Governors Research Chair at the University of Lethbridge. A leading member of the new Canadian Centre for Behavioral Neurosciences, his research has focused on Parkinson's Disease, the evolution of motor skills and spatial behavior.
